Your browser downloads a 92 MB voice model once. After that it is kept on your device, and the voices are ready in moments.
That depends on your device, since it does the work. A recent laptop takes about as long as the speech itself, so a full 35,000 words, around three and a half hours of audio, takes over three and a half hours. Older machines and phones take longer, and very long scripts can run out of memory on a phone.
English only, for now. Text in other languages comes out wrong, so paste English for the best result.
In this browser only. They are never sent anywhere, so they stay on this device and clearing your site data removes them.
The voices come from Kokoro-82M, which is released under the Apache 2.0 license and allows commercial use.
